The CBMH Research Scholar program, open to all Medical Center students, invites participants to join research efforts undertaken by the Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities. In addition to participating in ongoing research in the humanities, students complete CITI training, an Academic Honesty module, submit a research abstract to the meeting of their choice, and present their work either orally or in poster form. This is a self-paced program, allowing students to work as their schedule allows.
Learning objectives:
- Students will increase their knowledge of ethics and regulatory issues in research.
- Students will appreciate the importance of responsibility in the conduction of research.
- This program will foster ethical behavior in participants during their training and in their careers.
- Students will be able to define the following terms: plagiarism, collaborative research, and human subjects research.
- Students will demonstrate command of a subject by presenting materials (poster or oral presentation).
